SANTICHEN – Frances, 89, Johnstown, passed away at home January 11, 2023. Born October 20, 1933 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Unisko) Simunich. Preceded in death by husband John N. Santichen; grandson Jason A. Santichen; daughter-in-law Christine M. Santichen; sister Catherine (Buchan) Haebich; brother Thomas Simunich and sister-in-law Paulett Simunich. Survived by son, John Jeffrey; daughter, Michele Ann, married to David Bicko; son David Scott, married to Eva Sanders. Grandchildren, Kathryn Santichen; Brent Bicko, married to Hanna Lecrone; Lara Bicko; and her only great-grandchild Logan Andrew Bicko. Also survived by sisters, Maryann Masoryak; (Joseph-Deceased); and Anna Marie Mowery married to Raymond; and numerous loving nieces and nephews who meant the world to her. Frances loved traveling on bus trips, knitting, crocheting, reading her kindle and baking. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and “mamo” and will be very sadly missed. Special thanks to her wonderful caregivers: Trista, Michelle and Monica who provided loving care and comfort to our mom. Special thanks to her Interim Home Health Team: Krista, Lacey, Ann, Nick and Sue who cared for our mom for many years after every hospital stay. They meant the world to her and were like a part of our family. Special thanks also to the Interim Hospice Team: Jenna, Tabitha, Katie, Amy and Stephanie who made our mom as comfortable as possible in her final weeks. Special thanks to Amy Reynolds, who was a very dear friend to our mom for years. She always looked forward to her visits. Frances was a devout Catholic and member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Moxham where Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023. Family and friends will be received Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home from 2 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude’s Hospital or Birthright of Johnstown.
