Francis W. Legath

LEGATH – Francis W., 95, of Johnstown, died May 7, 2022, at Richland Woods Assisted Living. Born January 2, 1927, in Johnstown the son of Paul and Mildred (Timchak) Legath.  Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elsie, Margaret, Millie, Laura Jean, Rosemary and brothers, Vincent and John. He was the last surviving member of the Legath family.  Survived by his loving wife of 70 years Audrey (Petrusky) Legath; children, Marcia Feltz; Francis “Buddy”, married to Karen (Koval) Legath; Sandra Legath; and Daniel, married to Beverly (Woznick) Legath; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.  Francis was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and retired from Dornick Point where he was a plant operator.  Francis was an avid bowler and will be remembered for his dedication toward managing many baseball teams through the years.  He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Fr. William E. Rosenbaum officiating. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held.  Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum with Military Honors by Conemaugh Valley Detachment #287 Marine Corps League.  The family would like to thank Tabatha, Amy and Candie of Interim Hospice, caregivers Steve and Mike and the staff of the Richland Woods for the kind and loving care they provided to Francis.
