Francis G. Yuras

YURAS-Francis G. “Fran”, 77 Johnstown, passed away on May 25, 2024.  Born in Johnstown on January 29, 1947, son of Frank J. and Helen R. (Donley) Yuras.  Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife, Janet (Stofko) Yuras of Johnstown; stepdaughter, Michelle married to Mike Lis; and step granddaughter, Madelyn, all of Virginia; brother, Richard Yuras married to Sherry (McNeal), Herndon, VA; nephew, Chris O’Brien (Lilly), of Virginia; niece, Julia Truskey (Brian) of Virginia; sister-in-law, Patricia Stofko-Barrett widow of the late Dennis Barrett of Johnstown; and nephew, David Barrett (Ruth) of Champion, PA. Fran was security guard at JWF Industries. He was President and co-founder of West End Ambulance Association; Constable for Cambria County; former Police Officer for Lower Yoder Twp., member of the Lower Yoder Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was a Hospitality Minister and member of Resurrection Parish, where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, the Rev. George M. Gulash.  Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery.  Friends received Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Resurrection Parish in memory of Fran Yuras.
