SAX - Frederick W., 80; Belmont, passed away May 5, 2019 at Conenaugh Hospital. Born February 19, 1939 in Johnstown, son of Valentine and Bertha Sax. Preceded in death by parents and daughter, Deborah Sax-Kaufman. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Mary Kay (Ley) Sax, Johnstown; daughter, Theresa Sax, Trafford, PA; son, Daniel (Beata), Warsaw, Poland; and granddaughters, Zofia and Lena. Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran, salesman (AAA, Laurel Motors), volunteer (Junior Miss, Jaycees, JHS Band Boosters, Gabriel Project), traveler, numismatist, sports fan, Santa at Galleria Mall, and “friendly Avon man”. Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Walter J. Moll. Committal Grandview Cemetery.
