Gary Shuey Obituary

SHUEY – Gary Wayne., 73, of Jeannette, died December 3, 2024, at Westmoreland Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born May 17, 1951, in Greensburg, he is the son of Kenneth D. and Pearl F. (Sterner) Shuey. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Paige Alexandria Shuey; brother Rev. Bernard L. Shuey; and brother-in-law, Barry Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie (Thomas) of 33 years; children, Michelle Cole (Michael), LeeAnn Lemoine (Bill), Danielle Hartman (Eric), Jessica Woodhead (Jeremy), Noah Shuey (Brenna), Jacob Shuey, Tiffany Shuey, and Jackson Shuey; grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Caleb, Bailey, Abigal, Aidan, Brady, Eve, and baby boy Shuey; sisters-in-law, Carol Shuey, Beth Smith (Dan), and Laurie Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary retired after 50 plus years as a machinist. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, singing at home and in the church choir. Every year he looked forward to playing Santa at church and family functions. However, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family most of all. Gary was a fun, loving and caring father. He had great faith and always kept his priorities straight. It was God, his wife, and then his children. You never had to guess what he was thinking because he never kept anything in, he told you exactly how he felt. He was selfless and truly loved everyone. The family would like to thank Janet, Jesse, and Richard from Bayada Nursing for the wonderful care and support they provided Gary over the last 5 months. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will truly be missed by many. A memorial service in Gary's honor will be held on December 15, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Trinity Community Methodist Church located at 210 W. 4th Street, Greensburg, PA 15601, Rev. Tammy Falcsik presiding. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Gary’s memory to Project Share the Joy at 248 Trees Mill Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
