TROTZ - Genevieve “Jenny” passed away on December 21, 2021 at the age of 90. Jenny was born January 16, 1931 in Johnstown, daughter of John and Sophia Gawel. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon Trotz; son, Thomas Trotz; daughter, Nancy Claar; daughter-in-law, Debbie Trotz; son-in-law, Gary Schilling; granddaughter, Jessica Martinkis; Lynn LaPorte and Scott Sirko. Jenny is survived by her children Bob Trotz, Patty Schilling, Bill Trotz (Tara), Larry Claar, Sharon Kusher (Rudy), Carol Audey (George).. She was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren. She also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Jenny retired from Metropolitan Insurance Company at the age of 62, never missing a day of work. She also was an Avon Representative for 37 years Jenny was a lifetime member of St. Casimir’s Catholic Church and a member of the Mother’s Club. She was also a member of the Polish Heritage Choir and the Polish Heritage Council, where she received the Polonian Award in 1999 for her dedication to preserving our heritage. When she wasn’t working and caring for her family, she enjoyed Polkas. Jenny attended all of the local festivals, followed Polish Bill, was part of the Polka Chicks, and traveled all over following the Polka bands and choreographed the “Krakowiak” dance. Jenny’s favorite holiday was Christmas where she decorated inside and outside her home. She invited neighbors and friends to share the magic of Christmas. Our mother was always smiling, never complaining. She never missed calling us on our birthday where she would sing happy birthday and end singing “Sto-lat”. A special thanks to Sandy Rose for the kind and loving care you gave to mom over the past 15 months. We also want to thank the caring staff at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital. We will miss you forever, Mom. Private funeral services will be held at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc. 710 Broad Street at the convenience of the family.
