Helen Tay

TAY - Helen, 89; Johnstown, passed away on August 5, 2021at Conemaugh Hospital.  Born January 25, 1932 in Johnstown, daughter of Alex and Sophie (Kachurik) Tay.  Preceded in death by parents; brother, John Tay; and sisters, Mary Palumbo and Anna Marie Bononno.  Survived by loving sisters, Marcy (Tay) Diamond, Johnstown; Joan (Tay) Billings, El Paso, TX; and Loretta Tay, at home.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Helen retired from General Motors Corporation. She was a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites in Loretto, PA.  She is also a member of Resurrection Parish, where friends and family will gather on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., the Rev. George M. Gulash. Committal will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery.  The family requests, please wear mask for gathering and service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carmelite Monastery of Saint Therese of Lisieux at 2101 Manor Dr, Loretto, PA 15940 in memory of Helen Tay.
