CHALICH - James F., 71; Johnstown, passed away on December 24, 2020 at home. Born September 13, 1949 in Johnstown, son of Myles M. and Veronica B. (Vojtila) Chalich. Preceded in death by parents; special aunt, Margaret Vojtila; and niece and nephew, Megan and Zachary Chalich. Survived by loving wife, of 47 years, Gloria (Obarsky) Chalich of Johnstown; and sons, Matthew Chalich, Johnstown; Daniel Chalich and wife Laura, Pittsburgh; and Douglas Chalich, Pittsburgh. A brother of, Peter Chalich, Houston, TX; Theresa Chalich, Pittsburgh; Michael Chalich and wife Roxanne, Johnstown; Mary Barba and husband Michael, Doylestown, PA; and Bernard Chalich and wife Rose, Conemaugh. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a proud Penn State Alumnus. James was a retired Register Nurse for Conemaugh Hospital. A lifelong “Johnstowner”, Jim left his impression on the town through his work in the Steel Mill and as a nurse at Conemaugh Hospital. His calm, humble demeanor and incredibly diverse and varied interests will be missed dearly by his friends and family. From Pro Wrestling to Shakespeare in the Park; Pittsburgh Sports to Opera; Morning Comics to Jeopardy, “Jocko” had a wealth of knowledge and a thirst for learning, and enjoying life and travel.
