DADEY – James F., 73, of Johnstown died November 6, 2021, at UPMC Altoona. Born February 3, 1948, in Johnstown, the son of Albert A. and Elizabeth (Given) Dadey. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert A. Dadey, Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Stephen J. and Delores E. Prebehalla; sisters-in-law, Margaret “Peg” Dadey; and Pamalyn Prebehalla; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Haggerty; and Stephen E. Prebehalla. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Ellen (Prebehalla) Dadey, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in August; sons, Jason, married to Alicia (Knoll) Dadey, Camp Hill, PA; and Michael Dadey and companion, Rhiannon, Johnstown; grandchildren: Samuel, Matthew, Gage, Kolton, and Kaylyn; sister, Beatrice Ann Haggerty; and brother, Thomas C. Dadey, both of Johnstown. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Patricia “Kim” Dadey; Delores “Kim” (James) Frieben; and Pam Prebehalla; along with numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Jim was a graduate of Johnstown High School and retired from Bethlehem Steel where he worked in the wire mill and was a member of the union. He was also a former employee of the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home. Jim was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where he was a member of the Men’s Club, and was also a member of the First Catholic Slovak Band Hall, CFU, Cambria County Regional Firefighters Association, and was a life member of the Lower Yoder Fire Department. Jim enjoyed watching sports especially golf, the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. Jim loved spending time with his family and was proud of his children’s various accomplishments. It brought him joy to see the wonderful adults they had become. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Franciscan Friars O.F.M. COV. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
