GALIARDI – James R., 93, of Johnstown, died August 13, 2024, surrounded by loving family. Born in Pittsburgh, the son of Raymond and Margaret (Kearney) Galiardi. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Patricia (Plaza); daughters, Joanne Hahn and Kathleen Galiardi; brother, Robert Galiardi; and sister, Eileen. James was the last surviving member of his family. Survived by children, James (Mary) Galiardi, Jeffrey (Pauline) Galiardi, and Jeanne (David) Nanna; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. James was a scout leader and established many troops in both the Pittsburgh and Johnstown area. He was a member of the local Lions Club, an avid bowler, and a lifelong member of the Knight of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling and was lucky enough to have visited all 50 states. After serving in the US Army, Jim worked at American Standard, Penstan, Breco Mechanical, and then owned Johnstown Plumbing and Heating. He was also a lifelong member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where he was an usher and participated in many church events. James was a wonderful and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will truly be missed by many. Friends will be received Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Very Rev. Mark S. Begly, VF.
