James E. Golby Jr.

GOLBY - James E., Jr. 63; of Johnstown, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, on April 20, 2024.  Born August 8, 1960 in Johnstown, son of James E. Sr. and LeAnn (Sloan) Golby.  Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Matthew Golby.  Survived by loving children, Brendan and girlfriend Leah, of Johnstown; and Katie married to Steven Hauser of Greensburg.  Also survived by grandchildren, Jack and Emma Hauser.  A brother of Audrey Coshun (Paul Jr.), Constance Solomon (Philip), Karen Golby, Linda Majca (Edward), Timothy Golby and Daniel Golby. (Jennifer).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Jim was a graduate of Bishop McCort High School Class of 1978.  A member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Jim retired from FiHoff Concrete Company.  He enjoyed going to concerts, Kayaking at Hinkston Run, Rock N’ Roll, playing with his grand kids and going on drives and to the camp with his son.  He was a huge Pittsburgh Sports fan, and he loved his Pitt and Penn State Football.  He had a few spots in town he loved to go, just to catch a game with friends, and enjoy his chips and drinks.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street where funeral service will be held at 7:15 p.m. the Rev. Anthony Francis Spilka.  Committal will take place at a later date at Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
