KUKURA – James M., Sr., 61, of Tire Hill, passed away June 26, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born July 26, 1961, in State College the son of James F. and Elsie B. (McPeak) Kukura. Survived by his parents; loving wife of 40 years, Kimberly A. (Gillin) Kukura; son, James M., Jr., married to Justine (Respet) Kukura; daughter, Jenna married to Alyssa (Spanko) Kukura; grandchildren: Jamis Michael; Jaylynn Mavis; Javin Matheson; Nova; Arieannah; and Avian; brothers: Patrick (Karin); Jeffrey (Lisa) and Michael (Carolyn); brothers and sisters-in-law: Darlene (Ken); Darrel (Barb) and Patrick (Michele). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. James was a 1979 graduate of Bishop McCort High School and a US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Klakring FFG-42. He loved riding his motorcycle and was President of Somerset ABATE; member of the Somerset Eagle Riders; and Rockwood Legion Riders. Also a member of the Rockwood American Legion Post 279; and Somerset Fraternal Order of Eagles. Mostly, Jim was a wonderful grandfather who loved playing tag, hide and seek, jumping on the trampoline, sneaking snacks and spending time with the grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., where funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Very Rev. Mark S. Begly, VF. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to the Children’s Aid Home, 1476 N. Centre Avenue, Somerset, PA 15501, in memory of Jim.
