Jean V. Baeder

BAEDER - Jean V., 97; Johnstown, passed away on April 1, 2021 at Conemaugh Hospital.  Born October 2, 1923 in Johnstown, daughter of Pietro and Carmella (Martire) Pingatore.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Robert A. Baeder; brothers, William, Robert, Rudy, Ernest, James, Emilo, and Louis Pingatore; and sisters, Alice Prince, Olga Paruch, Edith McClain, Mary Unger, and Elvida Pingatore.  She is survived by loving sister, Ruth Stumpo of Johnstown.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  She worked as a cashier at the former Glosser Brothers Store, the Candy Store on Main Street, and the Sewing Factory.  Jean was a retired cafeteria worker at Garfield School of the Greater Johnstown School District. A member of St. Rocco Society and longtime volunteer at the West End Food Pantry.  She was a parishioner at St. Therese Catholic Church, where she worked with the ladies pinching perogies.  She loved to dance and went on many trips following polka bands as one of the “Polka Chicks”.  Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Therese Church, the Rev. Bernard Karmonocky, OFM.  Committal will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Friends received Monday from 4 to 7 at the Francis G.
