Joann Jastrzab

JASTRZAB (Sabo) - Joann, 76; of Ebensburg was called home by our heavenly father on September 13, 2023, the same day as her mother three years earlier.  Born November 7, 1946 in Petersburg, VA the only child of Joseph and Helen (McCabe) Sabo.  Preceded in death by parents; and her loving husband, John Jastrzab.  Survived by stepson, Jeff (Krisanne) Jastrzab and their children, Alac and Clayton, of Colorado; uncle, Russell McCabe, Johnstown; aunts, Helen (Buddy) McMullen, Johnstown; Catherine Silko, Nanty Glo; numerous cousins and her beloved dog “Harley”.  In her lifetime Joann worked for Workers Comp and numerous insurance companies.  She volunteered at Conemaugh Hospital and was involved with the Greater Johnstown High School Alumni for the Class of 1966.  Joann had a vibrant soul who loved life and lived it to its’ fullness.  She loved to travel, visiting family, her bird houses and her pets.  A special thank you to Kim Wisniewski for her loving kindness and adopting “Harley”, to Father Scott for his prayers, Penn Hospice for their compassion and the staff at Ebensburg Cambridge Memory Care for their acts of empathy.  Friends received Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Broad Street. Committal will follow at Grandview Mausoleum.
