John Raymond Musulin passed away on May 4, 2025 at the age of 80. He was born in Johnstown, PA and was the first born of five children and the only son.
John grew up in Johnstown and graduated in 1962 from Ferndale-Dale High School. In subsequent years, no matter where he lived, he retained a love for his hometown and enjoyed returning to see relatives and attend class reunions.
John attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a BA in Economics in 1967. All through his life, he remained a loyal Pitt Panther fan.
He started his career with Eastman Kodak’s Distribution Division in Rochester, New York. He had a variety of assignments with a supply chain focus during his 32 years with Kodak. This included six years in Europe with four of those based in London. Both he and his wife Marsha truly enjoyed the experience. John was extremely proud to be a part of Kodak and worked with so many talented people.
In 1998, John moved to St. Petersburg Florida to work for Essilor USA (a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of ophthalmic prescription lenses). When the Florida office was closed in 2006, he moved to Dallas, TX for several years to complete his working career. He was proud to have worked for such another fine company as Essilor for over ten years until his retirement.
His interests were varied and he enjoyed both physical and mental activities. Football and basketball were replaced over time by tennis and golf. He found golf to be the most frustrating and claimed he was a beginner when he started to play and was still a beginner when he quit.
John was also interested in collecting antiques, history, traveling around the United States as well as around the world. He followed the black and gold teams especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as Pitt football and basketball.
John was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary, and his wonderful wife Marsha of 48 years as well as his sister, Kathleen Beamer.
He is survived by his sisters Carol Dennhardt of Richmond, KY, Janette Mish and her daughter, Lauren of Newtown, PA. One additional sister wishes to remain anonymous.
To anyone he may have unintentionally offended, slighted, snubbed, cut off in traffic, under tipped, or otherwise annoyed, John offers his sincere apologies.
