Obituary
GULA – Joseph Francis, IV, 23, of Johnstown, passed away August 14, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 10, 2000, in Newark, DE, the son of Joseph F. Gula, III, and Barbara (Ference) Gula. Preceded in death by his parents.
Survived by sisters, Olivia Rose Gula, Sydney Elizabeth Gula-Weir, and Addison Gula; and brother, Benjamin Gula; grandmother, Barbara Trexler; and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Dorothy Gula; uncle, David (Amy) Gula; cousins: Andrew, Hunter and Megan Gula; special cousins: Jeff, Angi and Lianna Weir; and stepmother, Michelle Hennemyre.
Joe was a graduate of IUP where he received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and went on to work at the university in IT at the Student Co-op. He loved basketball, football and country music and was an avid Boston Celtic and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Joe was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where funeral service will be held at 5 p.m.
