SMITH - Joseph E., 80, of South Fork formerly of Johnstown, passed away February 19, 2025, at Heritage Ridge. Born July 15, 1944, in Johnstown. He is the son of Joseph E. and Mary (Stropko) Smith. Preceded in death by parents; infant daughter, Jodi Smith; brother, Richard Smith; and sister Nancy Rivers. Survived by his loving wife of 34 years Wanda (Reighard); brother Ronald Smith (Margie); many cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph was a Johnstown High School graduate from the class of 65. After graduating Joseph went on to work at Bethlehem Steel, where he later retired as a crane operator after 30 years. Joseph was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed camping in Potter County with his wife Wanda. He was a member of the Daisytown Sportsmen’s Club. Joseph was also a lifelong member at Christ the Saviour Cathedral and was strong in his faith. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. He will truly be missed by many. Friends will be received Friday, February 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Panachida will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the Saviour Cathedral, The Very Rev. Protopresbyter Robert Buczak. Committal will follow at Christ the Saviour Cemetery.
