KOMARA- Karl went before the judgement seat of Jesus Christ on June 18, 2023. Karl was born on November 8, 1961, and was baptized the next month on December 3rd in St. Therese parish on Decker Avenue in Johnstown. He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Komara, and survived by Angela (Skunta) Komara, his mother. He is also survived by Elaine (McDermott) Komara, his loving wife and Franklin Komara, brother of Kissimmee, FL and Kenneth Komara, brother of Kissimme, FL and Joseph Komara, brother of Johnstown, PA. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Johnstown. Karl attended West End Catholic and Bishop McCort High School form 1976 through 1978 but graduated from Greater Johnstown Vocational-Technical High School in 1979. He entered the U.S. Army Reserve in 1979 where he served in the HHC 458th Engineer Battalion being honorably discharged in 1985. Karl received a Bachelor of Arts in 1985 from the University of Pittsburgh where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Chi fraternity having served as Treasurer. Karl Worked as an equipment leasing sales representative and as a Field Agent for the Knights of Columbus. Karl married Elaine (McDermott) in Danville, PA on August 1, 2014, at St. Joseph’s parish in Danville, PA and was happily married. He was a cantor for the Neo-Catechumenal Way for ten years under Fr. Bernard Karmanocky, OFM. Karl left the Catholic Church for about 23 years, but by the grace and mercy of God he returned in 2001 after making a good confession and reading the entire Bible. His life was marked by many ups and downs, but he took consolation in the sacraments, praying daily rosaries, a strong sacramental marriage, and assisting at the Traditional Latin Mass at Queen of Peace parish in Patton, PA. Karl was a member of the Auxilium Christianorum supporting exorcists since 2018 and a 3rd degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus since 2009.He held the office of Lecturer at St. Andrews K of C council. Also, Karl was a committed adorer at St. Patrick’s and St. Andrew’s Eucharistic Adoration chapels. A viewing will take place at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. June 23, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:00 a.m., June 24, 2023, at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family cordially requests that Masses be offered for the happy repose of Karl’s soul.
