Kevin William Rager

RAGER – Kevin William, 64, of Johnstown, died December 18, 2021, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born May 10, 1957, in Johnstown, son of William G., Jr. and Betty Lou (Rovan) Rager.  Kevin is survived by his parents; his loving wife of 43 years, Michele (Lopez) Rager; daughter, Amanda, married to Kurt Orndorff; son, Andrew, married to Melody (Kellogg) Rager; and grandchildren: Simon, Alise, Remy, and Rory.  He was the brother of Kathleen (William) Hill; Brian (Judy) Rager; Carl (Janet) Rager; and Roger (Gena) Rager; along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Kevin was a US Navy Veteran and was retired from Raytheon, where he was a contract engineer with both the National Security Agency and the Naval Research Lab in Washington D.C. Employed at SWR in Ebensburg, he was the Director of RF Engineering and was instrumental in thousands of FM and TV antenna projects throughout the US and Mexico. He was a member of the Bowserdale United Methodist Church, where he participated in the Men’s Breakfast Club. He belonged to the VFW Windber Post 4795 and was a former member of the Hanover HOGS motorcycle club.  Some of our fondest memories are family trips to Disney and Hawaii with his children and grandchildren. Kevin will be remembered as a kind, patient and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday with a celebration of Kevin’s life at 7:15 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday.  Interment with Military Honors will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA. The family is eternally grateful to Dr. Sbeitan, Dr. Higbee, the nurses, and the staff at Conemaugh Cancer Center for the exceptional care and support.
