LaVerne M. (Himes) Jones

JONES – LaVerne, 91, of Johnstown, passed away April 27, 2019, surrounded by family. Born May 18, 1927. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret (Wirtz) Himes; husband, Robert Jones; and brothers: Charles and Robert Himes. She was the mother of: Theodore Jones, married to Roxann (Musser); Bonnie McCoy, wife of Daniel McCoy; Deborah Fisher; grandchildren: Brian McCoy, Jennifer (Paul Wingard); Dawn (Steven Baik); Krista (Justin Blough); great-grandchildren: Brayden, Broden, Colby, Aidan, Ryder, Khloe, Ellie Rose and one soon to be born. She was the monarch of her family and will be sadly missed. She was a hard worker, working at Woolworth, St. John’s School Cafeteria, Jupiter’s (Kresge’s) and SCM Metal (Glidden Metals). Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., where funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Committal will be held at the convenience of the family. A special thanks to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Emergency Room, 7 Rose, and Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to the Cambria County Humane Society in memory of LaVerne.
