SOBECKY – Leonard A. “Len”, 79, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020, in hospice care at H.J. Heinz Community Living Center in Pittsburgh, a V.A. Veterans Healthcare System, due to Alzheimer’s complications. Born May 6, 1940, in Johnstown, the son of Andrew and Mary (Bolcar) Sobecky. Preceded In death by his parents; brothers: Andrew, William, John and Robert; and sisters: Rosemary; Irene and Betty. Last member of the immediate family. Survived by loving wife Suzanne (Lohman) Sobecky, Johnstown; daughter, Roberta “Bobbi”, wife of James Irving, of Sewickley, PA; and grandsons: Grant and Andrew Irving. Special Niece, Mandy Sobecky England, of Southampton, NJ and many other nieces and nephews. Graduate of Johnstown High School. Retired from Bird Electric and Supply. Retired First Sergeant from the H.H.C. 458th Engineer Battalion with 29 years of service. Loved visiting his grandsons and working in various positions at the former St. Rochus Church for 33 years. There will be no visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Grandview Cemetery. The family is being served by the Francis G.
