OSTHEIM- Magdaline., 93, of Johnstown died October 1, 2023, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born December 5, 1929, in Johnstown, the daughter of John and Julia (Dzmura) Danovich. Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband John Ostheim; great-granddaughter, Tailynn; brother, John; and sisters, Helen, Mary, Anna, and Sr. Alphonsa. She is survived by children, Steven Ostheim married to Joann, Craig Ostheim married to Sharon, and Monica Housel married to Carl; Grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Jonathan, Matthew, Amy, and Breeanna; and 11 great-grandchildren. Magdaline enjoyed volunteering at Mt. St. Macrina and was a member of St. Mary’s Cana Sodality Society. She enjoyed making chocolate candy, knitting, crocheting, and gifting them to the people she loved. She was a devout Byzantine Catholic and enjoyed watching daily mass. Magdaline also enjoyed traveling with her late husband. Friends will be received Friday, October 6, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Parastas will take place at 7 p.m at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, the Rev. Msgr. Raymond Balta. Committal will follow at Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery located in Uniontown, PA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Sisters of St. Basil the Great at 510 W. Main St, P.O. Box 878, Uniontown, PA 15401.
