ALBERTER – Margaret E., 88, of Johnstown, entered into Eternal Life on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, in Bel Air, MD. Born October 7, 1930, in Johnstown the daughter of Alexander and Eva (Mehringer) Balogh. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Alberter; infant son; grandson, Cayce Miller; son-in-law, Dr. George Burkhardt; grandson-in-law, Aaron White; brothers: John and Stephen Balogh; and sisters: Helen Reha; Rose Mary Bachik; and Ethel Naglich. Survived by her children: Evonne Alberter-Boroski, wife of Gary Boroski, MD; Sandra Burkhardt, Alabama; John, married to Amy (Smith), Johnstown; Richard Alberter, married to Donna (DePra), Johnstown; Linda, wife of Kenneth Mindala, Sr.; Teresa Goas, Johnstown; grandchildren: Emily, wife of Marty Garnett, Danielle, Alexander, Amy, Kristi, Scott, Kenneth, Jr., Nicole, Alicia, Robert, Jr., married to Kara, Angella, Jacob and Katherine. Also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret shared her steadfast faith in God with everyone. She was a loving and gentle wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a source of joy and strength to all she met.  Margaret was best known for her cooking, baking and love of Hungarian traditions. She loved spending time in Potter County, gardening and canning with her husband, Martin. Margaret was a member of the former St. Emerich Parish; member of the Ladies Guild, a Sacristan and children’s choir director. She fulfilled a lifetime dream of becoming an LPN and served at Conemaugh Hospital for many years. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where a vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Fr. Bernard Karmanocky, O.F.M. Committal will be held at St. Emerich Cemetery.
