Margaret (Konchan) Ryba

RYBA – Margaret, 85, of Johnstown, died February 24, 2022, at Richland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born November 21, 1936, in Johnstown the daughter of John and Goldie (Pavina) Konchan. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Konchan; and sisters, Donna Whitla, Connie Charles, and Elizabeth “Betty” Gelles. Survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John Ryba; daughter, Deborah, married to David Lichvar; grandchildren, Alicia (James Carr), and Shawn Lichvar; sister, Mary Findley; brother, Anthony (Carol) Konchan; sisters-in-law, Theresa Ryba and Rosella Ryba, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was a former member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and currently a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. where she was a cook. Margaret dedicated many hours volunteering for the church and Korean War Vets and enjoyed catering for any occasion.  Anyone that met her loved her immediately, it was hard not to.  Her love language was cooking in bulk. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Resurrection Catholic Church, Fr. George Gulash.  Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
