Obituary

MAJORIS - Martha Ann (Zahorchak) 85; passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022 in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida with her beloved son, Christopher by her side. Preceded in death by parents, John and Anna Zahorchak; loving husband, Joseph Majoris; daughter, Anne Heather Valentine; grandson, Corey Leech; and ten older siblings, Anna, Mary, Stephen, John A., Mary, Josephine, John C., George, Margaret and Lucy.  Survived by sister-in-law, Ann Zahorchak and many family members.  Martha was born on November 23, 1936.  She was a graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School.  She married Joseph Majoris on May 13, 1961 and they had many years of shared happiness. Together they had three children: Cynthia Anne married to Bernard Leech; Christopher and friend Marcos Dias; and Anne Heather Valentine; ten grandchildren: Bernard (Stevi), Adam (Cali), Corey, Travis (Brandy), Joshua (Loren), Rhett (Shyleigh), Christian, Drake (Tana), Jozef (Cara) and Hunter (Cassady); two great grandsons: Jax and Maddox; and another grandson forthcoming.  She was employed by Mercy Hospital/Good Samaritan, and worked in the Admissions Office.  She was a certified teacher of ceramics and a Marion artist.  She was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Red Hat Society for decades.  She loved to dress to the hilt, sparkle, shine and shop, shop, shop.  She was young at heart and always up to date.  She loved listening to her favorite band the Pet Shop Boys and even saw them in concert.  She attended Mass and prayed numerous rosaries daily.  Friends received Monday, November 14, 2022 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street.  Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of the Visitation of the BVM, the Rev. John J. Slovikovski.  Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her loving husband.  Condolences may be sent at fgozogfuneralhome.com
