HERDMAN – Martin, 68, of Conemaugh Borough, formerly of Prospect, died November 16, 2023. Born December 20, 1954, in Johnstown, the son of Edward and Geraldine (Burns) Herdman. Preceded in death by his parents; sons: Michael and Daniel; brothers: Thomas and Edward; and sister, Mary Ellen. He is survived by his longtime partner, Joann; children: Martin, Nicole, Justin, and Ryan; grandchildren: Alexis, Jaslyn, Kylee, Rielynn, Michael and Bryden; and great grandchildren: Princeton and Aviana. Also survived by special niece, Melanie and numerous nieces and nephews. Martin was a proud five-year cancer survivor. He was a devout Catholic and faithful member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral. Martin was a hard worker his entire life and a former employee of Glosser Brothers, Bethlehem Steel and a postal carrier. He was a die-hard Steeler, Pirates and Penguins fan and loved hunting and fishing. Martin was a member of numerous social clubs in Woodvale and Old Conemaugh Borough. Most of all Martin was the kind of man that would do anything for anyone he knew. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, Very Rev. Matthew Baum officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date.
