Mary Ellen "Dolly" Herdman

HERDMAN – Mary Ellen “Dolly”, 79, of Johnstown, died April 26, 2022, at her residence. Born March 16, 1943, in Johnstown the daughter of Edward and Geraldine A. (Burns) Herdman. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Thomas and Edward Herdman; and sisters-in-law, Linda Herdman and Kathryn Herdman. She is survived by her brother Martin “Marty” Herdman, married to Joann (Homola) and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, a great-great-great niece, and very special friend, Antoinette Rhodes . Dolly was a graduate of Greater Johnstown High School and was a CNA at Mercy Hospital before retiring from Conemaugh Memorial Hospital. She was a devoted Catholic and longtime member of the former Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Prospect and currently a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral. Dolly enjoyed playing bingo and loved family gatherings. There will be no visitation for Mary, however family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, the Very Rev. Matthew B. Baum officiating. Committal at Grandview Cemetery.
