SACERINO – Mary M. “Mema” (Homola), 100, of Johnstown, was welcomed into her Heavenly home by her husband, James, Sr.; sons, John, Dennis, James, Jr., and Larry; daughter, Frances; and grandsons, Charles Corson and Allen Sottile on December 21, 2020. Mary is survived by her devoted son, David; daughter, Lois, wife of August Sottile; grandchildren: Gina, A.J. (Jen), Lynette, Sicily (Brandon), David, Jr. (Darcy), and Ashley. Great-grandchildren: Maryanna, Abigail, Justin, Leanna, Aniah, and Aralyn. Mary was a woman of unwavering faith and immense love for her family. At the spry age of 100 she continued to teach, play, and pray with her great-granddaughters daily. Mary spoke English, Italian, and Slovak fluently. If she was really excited she would likely speak all 3 languages in one sentence. She loved to crochet. She could see a pattern and recreate it with ease. She loved to cook amazing meals and no one ever left her home hungry or without a little something to take home. She taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to never doubt our Lord or His purpose. Mema was the heart and soul of our family and will be deeply missed. A private visitation will be held for the family. Due to the current COVID pandemic those who feel comfortable with attending are invited to attend a funeral Mass 11 a.m. Monday at the church where Mary was a devoted member, St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Fr. George M. Gulash officiating. Committal will take place at St. Anthony Cemetery. The family is being served by the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street.
