Michael Teplica

TEPLICA— Michael A., 82, of Johnstown, passed away Aug. 16, 2024. He was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Johnstown, Pa., a son of the late John Teplica Sr. and Mary (Payto) Teplica. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, John Jr., George, Stephen and Joseph; sisters, Mary Mirilovich, Margaret Evans, Anna Mishurda, Helen Teplica and Pauline Fetsko. Survived by brother, Nicholas (Anita) Teplica, of Johnstown, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Crystal, Joshua and David. Michael was a lifelong member of Christ the Saviour Cathedral where he enjoyed spending time with other parishioners. Michael was a 1959 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a very generous person who loved his church, family, friends and ethnic heritage. He was a hard worker at everything he did, especially at his home garden where he grew all types of vegetables, and the best corn. His neighbors called him 'Farmer Mike.' He work for many years at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown. Special thanks to the staff at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital and Windber Hospice for their excellent care of Michael.

At Michael's request, there will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at Christ the Saviour Cathedral, the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Robert Buczak, celebrant. Committal, cathedral cemetery, Benshoff Hill. Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the Saviour Cathedral, 300 Garfield St., Johnstown, Pa. 15906, in memory of Michael.
