Michael W. Zahoran

ZAHORAN - Michael W., 87; Johnstown, passed away on February 2, 2024 at UPMC East, Monroville, PA. Born July 14, 1936 in Johnstown, son of Michael and Anna (Kovalik) Zahoran.  Preceded in death by parents; son Michael J. Zahoran; and sister Alice Joann Berkey.  Survived by daughter, Elizabeth married to James Grabowski;  nieces, Jennifer and Jackie; nephew, David; cousin, Joseph A. Zahoran and wife, Robin; extended family members, Ryan and Amanda; companion, Claudia C. Zavodnick; numerous cousins, and many friends.  A U.S. Army veteran.  Mike was retired Payroll Supervisor for Conrail Rail Road, with 36 years of service. He was owner of the Valley View Pheasantry from 1999 to 2019.  A life member of the VFW Post 155. A member of Christ the Saviour Cathedral.  Friends received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street where panachida service will be held at 3:45pm; and brief service will be held Wednesday 9:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 a.m., at Christ the Saviour Cathedral, the Very Rev. Protopresbyter, Robert Buczak.  Committal will follow at Christ the Saviour Cemetery, where the V.F.W. Post 155 Ritual Team will hold burial honors.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the Saviour Cathedral or the Wounded Warriors Project, in Mike’s memory.  Condolences may be sent at fgozogfuneralhome.com
