Mildred F. Varner

VARNER - Mildred F., 93; Johnstown, passed away on November 3, 2024.  Born September 26, 1931 in Johnstown, daughter of Julius and Mary (Rusin) Tarsovich.  Preceded in death by parents; 1st husband, George W. Spishak; 2nd husband, John B. Varner; son, James G. Spishak; sisters, Lillian Brutz, Helen Golub, Jenny Leck, Sophie Regula and Mary Kollar; brothers, Phillip and Joseph Tarsovich; and son-in-law, John Stephans.  Survived by loving children, Georgette Stephans and Carl Spishak and his wife Janet (Chernay); and grandchildren, John Stephans, Ryan Spishak (Krista) and daughter Hope, and Luke Spishak.  A brother of James Tars and his wife Lin.  Mildred was retired from the Little Shop at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital.  She is a member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral, where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, the Very Rev. Matthew Baum. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery.  Friends received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G.
