Nancy J (Makin) Gilchrist

We regretfully announce the passing of Nancy J. Gilchrist ,66, who passed away surrounded by her loved ones on March 30, 2022. Nancy had a quick but difficult battle with cancer and is finally at rest. She will be forever loved and forever remembered. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Norman J.Makin Sr and Elizabeth (Stark) Makin,  brothers: Norman J Makin Jr, William Makin, Randy Makin, and Bobbie Makin and her sister Donna Kline.  She is survived by her daughters Shannon McLaughlin (David) and Stormy Dodson, sisters Nellie Updegraff, Joanne McCleester (Mark), Judy Shrader and her brother Eric Makin.  She is also survived by her beloved partner of over 20 years, Chris Kiser.  She is survived by her special niece Carrie Patrick and her former son in law Jeremy Dodson and her grandchildren: Ethan Dodson, Kyah Dodson, Memphis Dodson, Ashley Malfer (Josh) and Lexy Tedjeske (TJ DiCiero).  She also had 3 great grandchildren, Christian Hernandez and Macie and Briar Malfer.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.  

Nancy loved spending time with her friends and her family.  She also loved crafts and making one-of-a-kind creations for people to enjoy. She enjoyed cooking and was one of the best cooks we knew, she missed her calling by not being a caterer.   

There will be no services at this time. We will plan a memorial for a later date and will let everyone know when the celebration of life for Nancy will be.
