VAVREK– Nancy Ann, 75; Johnstown, passed away at home, after her long battle with cancer for 6 years, on April 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 3, 1949 in Johnstown, daughter of John E. and Josephine (Zahorchak) DeCoske. Preceded in death by parents; and loving husband, Daniel A. Vavrek Sr. Survived by children, Christi Vavrek (Steve), Seward; Daniel Vavrek (Katie), Pittsburgh; Michael Vavrek, Johnstown; and Amy Been, Hollsopple. Also survived by grandchildren, Logan, Skylar and Mylee Been; and Michael Ray Black-Vavrek and Alexander Latini-Vavrek. A sister of Deborah Kuharcik (John) of Johnstown. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; Goddaughters, Nikki Smith and Katelyn Grainger; and special cousins, MaryBeth, Patti, and Kathy. Nancy was a graduate of Bishop McCort High School, Class of 1967. She worked as a receptionist for Johnstown Internists and was an Eucharist Minister and member of Visitation V.B.M. Catholic Church. Friends will be received Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 2:00PM to 8:00PM at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 3, 2024 at Visitation B.V.M Catholic Church, the Rev. John J. Slovikovski. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
