MOLCHAN - Nicholas, 92; Johnstown, passed away on September 25, 2022. Born November 6, 1929 in Johnstown, son of Gregor and Helen (Dutko) Molchan. Preceded in death by parents; beloved wife, Noreen L. (Schrum) Molchan; son Daniel Molchan; granddaughter Stephanie ; great-granddaughter, Hope; brothers, John, Peter, George, Charles, Steve and Michael Molchan; and sisters, Mary Podplesky, Elizabeth Johnston, Ann Huncharik and Helen Kutchma. He was the last survivor of his immediate family. Survived by loving children, Coleen Molchan, Johnstown; Nicholas Molchan (Linda), South Bend, IN; Michelle Sanz (Javier), Syracuse, NY. Also survived by grandchildren, Michael (Angela), Nicole (Sean), Raymond (Lauren), Kathleen (Alex), Albert and Paula; great granddaughters, Lydia and Paige; soon-to-be-born great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Hiram G. Andrews Maintenance Department, Boiler Room Department. A lifelong member of the Y.M.C.A. in Johnstown and member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, where Funeral Liturgy will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. the Rev. Msgr. Raymond Balta. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery, where Conemaugh Valley Detachment 287 Marine Corp. League Ritual Team will hold military tribute. Friends received Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street where parastas will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
