HAMMER – Norma M.,79, of Johnstown, died July 23, 2025. Born November 21, 1945, in the Philippines, she is the daughter of Roberto and Olympia (Marcado) Manalo. Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Bryan Barrica; brothers, Pablo and Ernesto Manalo; sister, Ramona; and “aunt” Jean Wozniak. Survived by her loving husband of 55 years Martin J. Hammer; children, Ronald (Barbara) Hammer, Theresa Forgas, and Michael (Amanda) Hammer; grandchildren, Nia Hammer, Andrew Forgas, Noah Forgas, Alba Hammer, Amelia Hammer, Donavan Hammer, and Gladys Salting. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; sister Lucia; brother-in-law, Dave (Marie) Hammer; nieces, Elizabeth “Biff” and Victoria; and nephew Big Al. Norma loved spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, she loved animals, and enjoyed yardwork which she always took pride in. Norma and her family wanted to especially thank the Starzl Transplant Center, Conemaugh Stroke Unit, nurse Dee and the staff at Divita, UPMC Shadyside Oncology, Conemaugh Cancer Center, and Windber Hospice for their continued care over the years. Norma was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be held Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Bernard Karmonocky OFM. Committal will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. on Sunday July 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She will truly be missed by many.
