HOOVER – Phyllis A., 85, of Geistown, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord May 9, 2020. Born May 1, 1935, in Johnstown the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Bukay) Hritz. Preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James Hritz. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 66 years, James R. Hoover; daughters, Deborah, wife of Edward Gilkey; Pamela, wife of Thomas Prohonic; and son Brian, married to Lori (Taylor) Hoover; grandchildren: Lara Prohonic; Amy (Gilkey), wife of Matthew Struzinski; Thomas, Jr. and wife Christine Prohonic; and Bradley and wife Katie Prohonic; Olivia Hoover and Alexandra Hoover; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Prohonic and Josephine Prohonic. Phyllis was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. A 1953 Graduate of Johnstown High School, Graduate of Cambria Rowe Business College and retired from Bon-Ton. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished and spoiled her grandchildren. Phyllis was an excellent baker and enjoyed playing April Fool’s Day Jokes on her husband and Grandchildren. Due to the current coronavirus and social distancing restrictions,there will be no visitation for Phyllis. A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
