TOTH – Raymond E., Sr., 81, of Southmont Borough, died December 15, 2022, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born June 10, 1941, in Johnstown the son of Michael Ralph and Margaret (Hanzel) Toth. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne Ann (Holtz) Toth; son, Raymond E. Toth Jr.; infant daughter, Angela and brother-in-law, Herman DeWayne Justus. Survived by loving daughter, Michelle Maggs and husband John Maggs; daughter-in-law, Patricia (Saintz) Toth; granddaughters: Sara Maggs and Grayce Toth; brother, Robert (Maxine) Toth; sisters, Karen (Jeff) Lehman; and Marie (Ralph) Edmiston;. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where he was the Head Usher and Secretary of the Men’s Club. He was a graduate of Johnstown High School and US Navy Veteran for 4 years serving during the Cuban Missile Blockade then serving 16 years in the US Naval Reserves. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp and Freight Car America. Ray was an avid gardener and loved Polka music, playing the harmonica at Christmas time and making dumplings during the holidays with Sara. Friends received Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., 710 Broad Street, where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars OFM Conv. Committal will be held at St. Francis Cemetery with military honor by VFW Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team.
