KEMERER - Robert G., 81, of Phoenixville passed away Sunday, November 28 after a brief illness. His wife Ruth (Voytko) Kemerer of 63 years and his son Richard (“Bill”) Kemerer were by his side at his passing. He was born in Hempfield Township, PA on December 26, 1939, to the late Walter and Josephine (Brewer) Kemerer. He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in 2009 after 22 years of service. He was a devout Catholic, a fourth‐degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and an American Legion and youth baseball coach. In earlier days, he enjoyed taking his wife on motorcycle trips with the Blue Knights and participated as a mentor and assistant for the Boy Scouts. He wanted to be remembered for his devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great‐granddaughter. He leaves behind a loving daughter Susan (Eric) Senn of Rector, PA, two additional sons Robert Jr. (Ginny) of Phoenixville, PA and Ray (Beth) Kemerer of Murrysville, PA, eight grandchildren, and one great‐granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister Alice Ann Bell of Greensburg, PA, brother Lewis Kemerer of New Stanton, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers Marshall and David Kemerer and sisters Emily Lucas, Alberta Lucas, Gladys Emerick, Marjorie Cooper, and Jeannette Johnson. Public visitations will be held at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home on Friday, December 3 from 5‐8PM and on Saturday, December 4 from 9‐11AM. A Traditional Catholic Requiem Mass will be offered at 11:30AM by Most Reverend Gabriel Tetherow, Bishop, at the funeral home, followed by Christian burial. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 1943 Craley Road, Windsor, PA 17366.
