Robert W. "Boots" Malysko

MALYSKO – Robert W. “Boots”, 92, of Johnstown, died June 16, 2024, at UPMC Passavant. Born September 7, 1931, in Johnstown the son of John E. and Catherine (Petz) Malysko. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen (Uzelac) Malysko; Sister, Dolores Horner; and infant brother, John Malysko. Survived by his children: Mary Malysko; Cynthia, married to Rick Vautar; Kathleen, married to Dave Logan; and Barbara, married to Rick Tomchik. He was a loving and adoring Pappy to his grandchildren: Jessica (Matt) Howard; Katie (Zack)  Jeney; Rebecca (Paul) Weatherly and Michael (Andrea) Brooks; and great-grandchildren, Brody and Ty Howard; and Maverick, Dominic, and Elliana Weatherly; and Tucker Jeney.  Boots was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart. He retired from Pendot where he was a Superintendent for State Highways and Laurel Crest where we worked in the warehouse. A member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Franciscan Friars OFM Conv.  Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street where vigil service will be held. Committal will take place at Grandview Cemetery with military honors by VFW Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team.
