Robert A. Sanders

SANDERS - Robert A., 69, Johnstown, passed away on March 30, 2026 at Heritage Ridge Care Center.  Born November 8, 1956 in Philadelphia, son of Joseph R. and Anne (Palecko) Sanders.  Preceded in death by parents; infant son, Jude Francis Sanders; mother-in-law, Betty J. Petro; and sister-in-law, Kimberly (Vitt)  Petro.  Survived by loving wife, of 28 years, Maria (Petro) Sanders; and son, Stephen Sanders. Also survived by brother Richard Sanders (Linda); father-in-law, Francis E. “Frank” Petro; sister-in-law, Catherine Barnes (Douglas); and brothers-in-law, Francis Petro Jr. (Lynne) and Stephen Petro (Caroline); and numerous nieces and nephews.  Robert was an Accountant for D. Geller & Son, in Atlanta, GA for 21 years, before he and Maria moved back to Johnstown in 2009. He was an accountant for Martella’s Pharmacy.  He loved watching his son play hockey, and spending time with his family.  He was an avid golfer and bowler, and looked forward to watching the Masters Tournament either in person or on television. He is a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, where Funeral Mass will be held Saturday April 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. the Rev. William E.
