Robert Wyar

WYAR – Robert, 53, of Johnstown, died April 26, 2020, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born March 19, 1967, in Johnstown the son of Henry A. and Barbara (Slagle) Wyar. Preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother; brothers Rick, married to Brenda (McDonald) and their children Ben and Clyde Fowler; and Donald and his children Brett and Reese; uncle, Albert Wyar; and cousin, Harry Stiffey. Bob was a graduate of Greater Johnstown VoTech High School and received his BS in Communication from Clarion University where he was president of the student body. During his college years Bob worked singing at Idlewild Park and later moved to California and worked in the entertainment industry, working 27 years at the Academy Awards.  Bob lived and breathed for working in the Church, devoting his life to God. He dedicated his life working at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Burbank, CA, St. John Gualbert Cathedral and St. Therese Catholic Church in Johnstown. Because of the current health crisis a private visitation will be held at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street. Private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, Fr. Bernard Karmanocky officiating. Committal at Grandview Cemetery.
