Obituary
SMEAL – Ruth G., 90, of Johnstown, died July 16, 2023, at home. Born November 29, 1932, in Johnstown the daughter of William and Gertrude (Glacken) Hileman. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald T. Smeal; daughter, Donna Burkhart; son, Mark Smeal; and sister Tommie Renolds. Survived by her children: Linda Pasternak; and Kenneth Smeal; grandchildren: Westly (Amanda) Burkhart; and Ricky (Megan) Burkhart; great-grandchildren Gabby (Jason); Audrey, Scarlett, and Remy; and sister, Gertrude Taylor. Ruth was a ‘spicey and feisty’ lady that loved sparkly jewelry, gardening, playing bingo, going to basket parties, and pie socials. She loved her animals but mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth will be remembered as a kind and loving mother and grandmother that will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Friends will be received Tuesday, July 25th from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
