Obituary

PALM - Shirley J. of Johnstown, PA died January 5, 2022, at Laurel View Village.  Born November 1, 1935, in Cumberland, MD she was the daughter of the late Bertha C. Bingaman and Charles Hendrickson. She is preceded in death by her late husbands, Anthony “Tony” Palm, Peter Babich and Donald H. Welsh and brother, Royce Hendrickson. A former teller for FNB.  Shirley was a member of the Rodojlub, Singing Society and a past member of St. Rochus Church. One of her passions was singing with the church choir and the Rodojlub Singing Society.  She always enjoyed being with her family and her extended Palm family.  Many people would say Shirley was one of the nicest ladies they ever met and she will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bauman (Rodney), Galveston, TX and son, Michael D. Welsh (Christine Matolyak), McMurray, PA.  Also survived by sister, Sylvia Haislet, Smithsburg, MD and brother, Gary Hendrickson, Texarkana, TX. Also survived by grandchildren, Lori Farkas, Michael J. Welsh, Heather Welsh, Allison Welsh and Jonathan Welsh. Great great-grandchildren, Michael V. Welsh and Lucas Welsh. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Benedicts Church, 2310 Bedford St., Johnstown, PA at 10:30 AM on January 14, 2022.  We would like to thank the Staff of Laurel View Village for their care and compassion.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Laurel View Village of Davidsville or the Alzheimer Organization (ALZ.org).
