YACYNYCH - Shirley Mae, 94; of Windber Woods, went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 23, 2022. Born May 18, 1928 in Johnstown, daughter of William and Elva Mae (Kitchen) Conley. Preceded in death by parents; step-mother, Stella (Wise) Conley; husband, Stephen Yacynych, great grandson, Caleb Yacynych; brothers, Ralph and Gene Conley. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Survived by sons, William “Bill” Yacynych, Johnstown; and David Yacynych, married to the former Gina Clement, Hollsopple. Also survived by grandchildren, Todd Yacynych (Holly), Amanda Evans (Buddy), Nicole Lucero (Steve), Stephanie Allison (Todd), Malory Simmons (Brian) and Cory Yacynych (Cristina); and great grandchildren, Shane, Nicholas, Emilee, Ted, Ashley, Wyatt, Chayce, Ryleigh, Brady, Zach, Baylee, Cassidy, Mila, Micaiah and Matteo; and great great granddaughter Avalyn. Shirley was taught dance by, and danced with Gene Kelly, in the 1940’s. She was a T.V. Attendant, for 17 years, at Conemaugh Hospital and former window dresser at J.C. Penney’s Department Store. A member of the Franklin Street United Methodist Church. Friends received Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Pastor Dr. David Pitkins officiating. Committal will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
