Stephen Buksa, Jr.

BUKSA—Stephen Jr., 62 of Johnstown, passed away April 15, 2020 at UPMC Altoona.  Born July 4, 1957 in Johnstown, son of Stephen and Virginia Carrie (Morgart) Buksa, Sr.  Preceded in death by parents; sister, Denise M. Bair Sheldon; niece, Gabrielle Frick; great-niece Merisa Bair.  Survived by siblings, Virginia Smith (Terry Whysong), Johnstown; Donna Regan (James), Johnstown; Diane Frick (Robert), Roaring Springs; Deborah Sherer (fiancée Stephen Berkebile), Johnstown; and John Buksa, Chambersburg.  Also survived by nephew Shawn Sherer, Jr., who lived with Stephen and numerous nieces and nephews. Stephen joined the military at the age of 16 with a waiver and graduated number one in the United States Army Recon Commando School and was part of the 1st Special Forces Command in Hawaii and served his country with valor during Vietnam.  Stephen served with distinction in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He formerly worked as a mechanic at Leitenberger Chevrolet. Stephen loved hunting, fishing, cooking and spending time with his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Private services are in the care of the Francis G.
