Stephen Buksa Sr.

BUKSA—Stephen Sr., 89; Johnstown, passed away January 23, 2020 at Conemaugh Hospital.  Born August 21, 1930 in Johnstown, son of Frank and Mary Buksa.  Preceded in death by parents; wife, Virginia C. (Morgart) Buksa; daughter, Denise M. Bair Sheldon; granddaughter, Gabrielle Frick; great granddaughter Merisa Bair; brothers, John and Frank Buksa; and sisters, Mary Buksa and Helen Mateljan.  Survived by children, Virginia Smith (Terry Whysong), Johnstown; Donna Regan (James), Johnstown; Diane Frick (Robert), Roaring Springs; Deborah Sherer (fiancée Stephen Berkebile), Johnstown;  and Stephen Buksa Jr., Johnstown; and John Buksa, Chambersburg.  Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A brother of Joseph Buksa of Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II.  Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp.  Friends received Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc. Broad Street, followed by Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m., at Resurrection Parish, the Rev. George M. Gulash.  Committal will take place at St. Stephen Cemetery, where the Conemaugh Valley Detachment 287 Marine Corp League will provide military honors.  Condolences may be sent at fgozogfuneralhome.com
