Stephen F. Oravec

ORAVEC - Stephen F., 86; Brownstown Boro., passed away at home, August 10, 2019.  Born October 24, 1932 in Johnstown, son of Martin and Anna (Svonavec) Oravec.  Preceded in death by parents; brothers Daniel and Benjamin Oravec; and sister, Mary Stauffer.  Survived by son, Steven Oravec; daughter, Renee Macari; grandsons, Daniel and Matthew Macari.  Also survived by brother, George Oravec and sister, Sr. Veronica Oravec CDP; and niece and nephew.  Stephen attended Johnstown Catholic High School (Bishop McCort H.S.), where he played football and graduated.  After graduating, he was employed as an electrician for Bethlehem Steel Corp.  He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War.  A member of the V.F.W., Steelworkers Union, and served his community as councilman for Brownstown Borough.  He was a longtime member of St. Michael Catholic Church.  Friends received Friday from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12noon at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street, the Rev. George Gulash.
