SUBICH - Stephen G. “Gertz”, 88; Johnstown, passed away November 14, 2020 at Conemaugh Hospital. Born July 29, 1932 in Johnstown, son of Anthony and Helen (Buckovic) Subich. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Frank “Lefty”, John, Michael, William and Nicholas Subich; and sisters, Helen Subich, Mary Karnosky and Genevieve Bagan; and nephew, Nick. Survived by daughter, Jaleen Waugh and husband Wayne, New Florence, PA; grandchildren, Morgan Waugh (Jeremy Hall), New Florence; and Patrick Waugh and wife, Allison; Baltimore, MD and great grandson, Chase Waugh. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Roseann and Joan; nieces, Kathy and Melissa; nephews, Brian and Jason; and numerous great nieces and nephews. U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp. Gautier Division. Owner of the former Maple Leaf Café. A member of the Woodvale AC, Woodvale Eagles Club, SNPJ Lodge 3 and the former St. Rochus Church.
