Sue Ellen Dadey

DADEY—Sue Ellen, 75; of Johnstown died January 17, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born on January 23, 1947, in Johnstown, the daughter of Stephen J. and Delores E. (Stiffler) Prebehalla. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years James F. Dadey; her parents; brother Stephen E. Prebehalla; father and mother-in-law, Albert A. Dadey and Elizabeth (Given) Dadey; sisters-in-law Pamalyn Prebehalla; Margaret (Peg) Dadey; and brothers-in-law Albert A. Dadey, Jr.; Lawrence E. Haggerty and Goddaughter Stephanie Prebehalla. She is survived by her two sons, who she is very proud, Jason married to Alicia (Knoll) Dadey, Camp Hill, Pa and Michael Dadey and Rhiannon; Johnstown; grandchildren: Samuel, Matthew, Gage, Kolton, and Kaylyn; sisters D. Kimberly (James) Frieben and Pamela Prebehalla; sisters-in-law Beatrice Ann Haggerty; Patricia “Kim” Dadey and brother-in-law Thomas Dadey. Special nephews Daniel Branagan and Tim Haggerty along with numerous other nieces and nephews. She loved her grand dogs; Ella, Waylon and Emmitt and Cooper who passed over the rainbow bridge, and her grand kitties Ryver and Frankie. She was a 1964 graduate of Johnstown High School and retired from City Hall where she worked as a secretary in the the Public Works Department. Most important to her was her family and faith. She had a strong faith in God which resulted in countless hours of prayers for her family and friends. Sue was a very loving and attentive wife, mother and grandmother, always positive and encouraging. She loved to cook special meals and desserts, especially for the holidays! She was known for her chocolate peanut butter fudge and nut rolls. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc.; 710 Broad Street. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Franciscan Friars O.F.M. Conv. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
