Thomas G. Ballow

BALLOW – Thomas G., 83, of Johnstown, died July 11, 2022, at Richland Woods.  Born March 31, 1939, in Johnstown the son of George and Dorothy (Vargo) Ballow. Preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Nancy J. (Urban) Ballow; brother, Ronald D. Ballow; and great- nephew, Cole Campbell. Brother of: Barbara, wife of Donald Toth, Benshoff Hill; Bernadette Ballow, Johnstown; George R. Ballow, Miami Beach; and Dorothy Louise Campbell, Johnstown. Also survived by uncle, Ray Vargo and wife Andrea; nieces, Olivia (Brett) Kudlawiec; and Rebecca (Matt) Dalton; nephews, Ronald (Amy) Ballow; George (Joy) Campbell; and Jody (Amanda) Campbell; sister-in-law, Diana Ragno; great-nieces and nephews: Katelyn, Samantha, Dominic, Regan, Carson, Isabella, and Quinn; and dear friend, Greg Fisher. Thomas was retired from the Hiram G. Andrew Center where he was the Utility Plant Supervisor.  He was an avid Penn State, Steelers and Dodgers fan. He enjoyed Siberian Huskies and loved to hunt, go to his cabin, search for and dig up old bottles, go to Cowan’s Gap State Park and as a Civil War buff loved Gettysburg National Park. Thomas was a member of the Camoset Bottle Club where he was Vice President in 1978/  Friends will be received Monday from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Inc., 710 Broad Street.  Funeral Liturgy will be held 12 p.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Cambria City, Msgr. Raymond Balta officiating. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church building Fund or Lewy Body Dementia Association, in memory of Mr. Ballow.
